Your Farm, Your Future

17 03 15 - 16:29

Infield Advantage provides an opportunity to gather and analyse personalized, field-specific data.

Thanks to corn and soybean check off dollars, it's free to participate! The program is open to any producer in Hendricks County, though our focus area is the Mill Creek Watershed in the SW part of the county.

More information about the program is available on the new website http://infieldadvantage.org/

If interested, contact Bree Ollier at the Hendricks Co. SWCD 317-745-2555.

Program Tools

  • Corn Stalk nitrate testing (CSNT): Determine nitrogen use efficiency at the end of the growing period.
  • Aerial Imagery: Observe fields from above to discover possible issues, including soil compaction and equipment malfunctions.
  • Replicated Strip Trials (RST): Compare different rates, forms, timing, and placement of crop nutrients within a single field to evaluate nutrient efficiency and associated yield.

Participation Requirements

  • Minimum of 20 acres/field (maximum 160 acres/field)
  • Commitment to follow specified protocols
  • Willingness to share ideas with other producers in the area as part of a peer group
